Maren Hatch started playing music when her family acquired an upright piano when she was a child. She then picked up the violin in school, and transferred to upright bass shortly thereafter. She has been playing bass for 15 years, and enjoys playing many different styles of music. She is a member of Albuquerque's local bluegrass band, the Squash Blossom Boys, and teaches both upright and electric bass lessons. Maren received her Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies from the University of New Mexico. When Maren isn't busy with her musical endeavors, she enjoys hiking, volunteering with Harmony Home Health and Hospice, and going back to school, where she is studying Physics and Biology.
